2024-02-09Add utility function to fixup Windows file pathsDavid Oberhollenzer
The idea is to iterate over a (canonicalized) path with forward slashes by components, i.e. file and directory names. Each name is then looked at by iterating over components, i.e. everything between dots. If a component is an illegal name, like COM1 or AUX, we add an underscore. If it contains illegal characters, like : or \, we re-map that character into unicode private use area. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>

2022-11-18Add a single, central base64 decoderDavid Oberhollenzer
Similar to the hex blob decoder, we need this once for tar and once for the filemap xattr parser. Simply add a single, central implementation to libutil, with a simple unit test, and then use it in both libtar and gensquashfs. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>
2022-11-18Add a single, central hex blob decoderDavid Oberhollenzer
Since we need it twice (once for tar, once for the filemap xattr parser), add a single, central implementation to libutil, add a unit test for that implementation and then use it in both libtar and gensquashfs. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>
2022-09-20block writer: move block comaprison to utility functionDavid Oberhollenzer
Slightly modify the byte-for-byte comparison function to compare an arbitrary range in a file and move it to libutil. Instead of calling it for each block in the block writer, simply let it check an entire range in the block writer and compute the range position/size of the reference ahead, before looking for potential matches. 2022-07-08Cleanup: move libutil headers to sub directoryDavid Oberhollenzer
Move all the libutil stuff from the toplevel include/ to a util/ sub directory and fix up the includes that make use of them. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>

2019-11-25Cleanup: move overflow safe alloc code into libsquashfsDavid Oberhollenzer
There were only a hand full of instances outside libsquashfs that used the alloc code. In most cases, the thing allocated hat its size derived from something already in memory anyway, so it is safe to assume its size fits into a size_t. At the same time, the opencoded Windows path conversion functions are all unified into a single helper function. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>

2019-11-23Fix various data type problemsDavid Oberhollenzer
- Make sure the mockup constant for AT_FDCWD is actualy an int - Don't use %lld printf format specified, mscrt doesn't have that - On 64 bit windows, use %I64u format specified for size_t - Seperate the overflow macro stuff from the form specifier stuff - Move the whole thing to compat.h and clean it up a little so it becomes readable. 2019-10-28Add macro for printf format specifier for size_tDavid Oberhollenzer
The MSVC runtime is a wierdo C89 platform with some cherry picked features from C99 (which does not include the "%zu" format specifier). This commit adds a macro with a size dependend format specifier to be used instead. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>
