2019-12-13Add a simplistic integration and regression testDavid Oberhollenzer
This test basically consists of the Canterbury Corpus which is turned into a SquashFS image using every supported compressor, with every supported block size, with and without tail end packing. The results MUST have an exact, given sha512sum. If that changes, it means either a regression in the output format, something broke or non-deterministic packing behaviour. 2019-11-15Fix build on BSD systemsAlyssa Ross
I tested FreeBSD, DragonflyBSD, NetBSD and OpenBSD and the endian macros weren't necessary (and in fact caused errors) on all of them. Because OpenBSD ships with an ancient GCC that doesn't support the checked addition/multiplication builtins, the build there would fail unless built with CC=cc or CC=clang. I changed configure.ac to prefer cc over gcc, so that the distribution's compiler preference is respected. (The default is [gcc cc]). I had to move AC_PROG_CC above LT_INIT because otherwise LT_INIT would run AC_PROG_CC first, and we wouldn't have a chance to use non-default parameters.

2019-10-11Add configure check for WindowsDavid Oberhollenzer
Set an automake variable and force --without-tools by default. Also, don't even try to check for pthread if we are compiling for Windows. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>
2019-10-08Add a configure option to disable building the toolsDavid Oberhollenzer
If this option is used, only libsquashfs is built and installed, and the test cases for the other helper libraries are deactivated. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>

2019-10-05Set sane defaults for backlog and job countDavid Oberhollenzer
Instead of defaulting to -j 1 and -Q 10 times the job count if no option is provided, let tar2sqfs and gensquashfs use all available CPUs and about roughly half the available RAM, if this information can be gathered. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>
2019-09-27Add a pkg-config file for libsquashfsDavid Oberhollenzer

2019-09-09Add Doxygen based reference manual to build systemDavid Oberhollenzer
This commit modifies the build system to optionally generate a reference manual for libsquashfs using Doxygen (if Doxygen is available and the manual is explicitly built). Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>

2019-08-18Replace update_crc32 helper function with crc32 from zlibDavid Oberhollenzer
It is optimized to the maximum and if we already use zlib anyway, why not use zlib crc32? This also makes zlib a hard dependency which also means the whole "do we have a compressor" sanity check in the build system can be removed. 2019-07-24Fix processing of tar mtime on 32 bit systemsDavid Oberhollenzer
struct stat uses time_t to store time values. On some 32 bit systems, this may be a 32 bit integer. This patch adds a broken-out 64 bit time value to tar_header_decoded_t and makes sure to clamp the value to +/- (2^32 - 1) if required when writing it back to a struct stat. 2019-07-24Enable largefile supportMatt Turner
Requires that config.h be included before other headers, since the macro _FILE_OFFSET_BITS changes the definitions of things like 'struct stat'. I chose to simply include it at the top of every C file and at immediately after the double-inclusion guards of every header. 2019-06-11Cleanup dependency handlingDavid Oberhollenzer
Always try to gather all compressor libraries available, but only complain about missing a one if it has been *explicitly* selected. If a compressor has been explicityl disabled, we can still turn it off after checking. Also, rework gensquashfs to set the default compressor based on what's available. 2019-05-04Rename lzma compressor to xz, zlib compressor to gzipDavid Oberhollenzer
Stick to the terminology that SquashFS uses. SquashFS uses "lzma" to refere to lzma1, "xz" to refere to lzma2 and confusingly "gzip" to refere to raw zlib deflate. We can avoid a lot of confusion by _consistently_ using the same terminology. Signed-off-by: David Oberhollenzer <david.oberhollenzer@sigma-star.at>
