This commit fixes some uses of strncpy that could leave the destination
buffer unterminated.

This patch eliminates warnings generated by the -Wmissing-prototypes
option. With this flag set, we are now forced to have prototypes for
all global, exported functions, that have to be made visible to the
definitions and we are forced to mark all local functions as static.

There are two variables which are not used anymore. Thos patch removes useless
lines and suppresses gcc warnings.

Depending on your compiler, size_t may or may not be long unsigned int.
Use printf's %zu format to clarify.
Warning message:
checkfs.c:524:28: warning: format '%lu' expects type
'long unsigned int', but argument 2 has type 'unsigned int'

This patch brings common Makefile (in terms of mtd-utils project) to the
checkfs test suite. Additionally it fixes a build error related to usage of
open().

There are two warnings:
- strlen() is used without prototype
- argument of printf() is unsigned long, but used specifier is for int
This patch fixes them.
